Last night I did you all a favor by going to Griffin’s Publick House on Center Street and trying the Hill Farmstead Brewery beer that they are now serving. For those of you who don’t know, Hill Farmstead was recently named THE best brewery in the WORLD. It’s located in Greensboro, Vermont and run by the Hill Family. The Hill boys named a litany of their beers after their ancestors. Edward Pale Ale is what I sampled last night, and it was named after their grandfather who owned the land atop which the brewery now sits.
Griffin’s is now the only restaurant in the surrounding counties to serve this beer. I tasted it, and it’s really good beer. I love their logo. I love their story. And I love that they’re in Vermont. Hill Farmstead is a trifecta of awesomeness.
Also awesome was the fact that I was drinking this amazing beer with some really cool folks. It was an impromptu celebration of Gift of Life Marathon that incidentally included a discussion of the tattoos that Steve Costello, Mayor Chris Louras and Terry Jaye agreed to get if Rutland broke the record. Having some tattoo experience myself, I was able to offer some constructive advice to these three novices. I think they are great sports to go through with it!
But I digress. Stop into Griffin’s next time you’re downtown to try Hill Farmstead’s world class beer.
