Cross stitch is a meditative art practice that involves creative choices

The women in my family have a history of engaging in embroidery and other needlework. Since I was a child, I’ve made cross-stitch projects and given them away to family members.
Recently, I learned that Palestinian women also engage in cross-stitch that they call tatreez. I’m exploring other cultures, such as Mexican, that also use cross-stitch as an artform and cultural practice.
