Today I went snorkeling for the first time! Twice! It was incredible – truly a surrealistic experience. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity. It is something you can never imagine unless you actually do it.
Then Jim and I got to have a night out alone. We went to dinner at a place called Sense. The food was very good – they even had some nice vegetarian options. I got an Irish coffee, which was superb and my favorite way to start out a night. We then walked a short distance to a resort for a performance by the Three Baritones of Netherlands.
Marco Bakker is known from his role in the musical “Cats”, Ernst Daniel Smid from his performance in “Un Voce Particolare” and Henk Poort is known for the lead role in “Phantom of the Opera.”
They were playing on a stage facing the beach and sea – it was an island symphony. The place was quite packed – standing room only. After we got our drinks, I spied some beach bed cabanas. I said that I didn’t really need to see them – just hear them. So, we got comfortable on one of the beds. Jim said we had the best seats in the house because we could hear this fabulous music while looking out onto the ocean. It was a bit comical some of the songs they sang… “To All The Girls I’ve Loved Before” and “That’s Amore” come to mind! They also did some classic operatic numbers in Italian and Dutch.
It was a very relaxing evening that I very much enjoyed.
