I love this bird call identification app (Merlin B I love this bird call identification app (Merlin Bird ID) that I recently installed. I love birds so much and would not want to live in a world without them. It's one reason I'm an environmentalist. Rachel Carson wrote a book in 1962 called Silent Spring. It's about how pesticides like DDT killed off a huge number of birds in her area. Because of the powerful message of her book, the U.S. ended up banning DDT (despite the efforts of the greedy, lying pesticide industry) and eventually created the EPA. Nature nurtures us, and we must protect it to protect ourselves. Capitalism exploits and degrades our natural environment, and we must fight against the worst aspects of it. #silentspring #rachelcarson #nature #protectnature #enjoynature

I have been thinking a lot about this platform and I have been thinking a lot about this platform and how I want to go forward with it. I've heard from several of you who only follow me on here and have enjoyed seeing my posts. I still hate the vertical format and do not want to use it because I'm a writer and don't use video much. The square format will always be my favorite, but I'll need to decide how to make graphics that work on the grid (if I even care how my grid looks anymore). In the meantime, enjoy this photo. The tips of these bottle brush flowers look like they glow. I love them so much.

My grid looks like shit because the idiots running this place decided to ruin years' worth of everyone's posts and graphic design. I don't want to make vertical posts, and this is the only one I'll make. Even my preview wasn't vertical, though. 🙄 I've been waiting to get a keffiyeh because I wanted it to be something beautiful that I cherished. I had only been seeing the black and red ones and, being the practical person that I am, wanted to make sure it was something I would want to wear frequently and not just to rallies. So, this is it.
